Digital marketing survives on clicks! That magical action which every content is expected to garner. This expectation is limitless.
Content producers use various baits to accomplish their goal. People follow rules, follow the opposite, and break rules to become successful. Their success stands on the shoulder of how many clicks their content has received.
This fetish has given rise to some remarkable trends.
First, people use mind-boggling titles to allure readers.
Second, they offer value in the form of content or otherwise using impressionable keywords bundled in a CTA (call-to-action) phrase.
Third, many offer horrific, controversial news to generate clicks. This was obvious.
But, the more we click on such “horrific, controversial” titles, the more this kind of trends are going to flourish. And the more we, as commoners, will be fed with concocted, manipulated content.
For the sake of keeping myself sane, I practice self-control and strong discretion not to be the silly fish for the “horrific, controversial” baits.
